Callie cradled her God son in her arms and rocked him gently as she spoke to him. It had been a month since his arrival. He looked up at her with big blue eyes and she smiled.

“I take it you like my plan than huh cricket?” The little boy kicked his legs in excitement that had earned him his nickname.

“I am so happy to have your approval. I have to make an honest woman of your God momma so we can give you God sisters and brothers.” The little boy’s legs kicked harder than before and Callie laughed.

“Yeah, I am pretty excited about that thought to.” Callie kissed the little boy on his head.

“Wish me luck Cricket.” Again the little boy kicked his legs before Callie placed him in his crib.

“Thanks kid.” She whispered to the yawning baby. She partially closed the door to his room as Mark opened the front door.

“Hey Cal, Thanks so much for watching him.”

“What are God mothers for?” Callie smiled wide. “Besides I love my cricket time.” Mark groaned at the nick name.

“Must you call him that? He has a real name you know. You and Arizona helped me think it up.” Callie rolled her eyes at the small disagreement that had been going on for almost a month now.”

“Oh come on Mark. It’s cute. Those little legs are always going like he is itching to jump around. You just wait until he figures out walking mark my words.” Mark paled at the thought of his baby boy one day being mobile. Callie laughed and patted his back. “Don’t worry we will be here to help corral him when he does.” Mark relaxed a little and turned his attention to Callie.

“Speaking of did you figure out how to corral Arizona?” Mark wiggled his eyebrows earning an eye roll from Callie.

“Actually I have. I was wondering if I could have cricket for a few hours on Friday?” Mark hardly even flinched at the nick name this time. He didn’t realize it but he was slowly starting to accept Arizona’s nick name for the little boy.

“Using my son to help get a lady?” Mark smirked. “I couldn’t be more of a proud father.” Mark smile was smug but he had a point she was going to use cricket to help. After all the little boy had already agreed. “Of course you can have him Friday night. Callie smiled in victory.

“Thanks Mark. It won’t be the whole night. I don’t want to sound conceited but I have a feeling Arizona and I will be celebrating that night.” Mark shook his head smile still in place.

“People like you and I were born conceited.” Callie attempted to look offended but honestly she couldn’t help but agree…just a little. She grabbed her bag and gave Mark a hug.

“Whatever you say. Now I have to get back home I have a future wife coming home soon.“ Callie hesitated for a second. “I think you should know Sloane called. The color from Mark‘s face drained much faster than it had a few minutes ago.

“Is she having second thoughts?” His voice shook as he spoke.

“No it’s nothing like that. She asked how Cricket was doing and wanted me to tell you that she is going back to school. She had more to say but that she wanted to tell you herself. She said she would call back. Besides the papers have already been signed. He is your son Mark. She wanted you to raise him.’ Mark relaxed and look towards Cricket’s room. Callie smiled.

“Go see him I know you missed him.”

“Thanks Cal for everything. Tell Arizona I said that to.” Callie picked up her bag and smiled.

“I’ll be sure to do that.” Mark made his way to his son’s room and Callie headed out the door to God willing her future wife.
