Jessie stood, admiring herself in the mirror. It wasn't really her style to primp and pose for her reflection, but even she had to admit that she was impressed

Natsuki was heading back to the room she shared with Shizuru after spending the morning, when she should have had a gunnery lesson, exercising in the extensive grounds of the school. Towel slung over her arm and water bottle in hand she was surprised when she saw Jessie heading towards the gunnery field.
She was even more surprised when she noticed Jessie's outfit, grinning she waved, "Hey" she called out, "Where are you off to?" Natsuki asked as she came closer. "Going for a swim?" she added gesturing to Jessies outfit. She hadn't asked Jessie about the disappearance of her bike from the garage but she'd heard the rumours and seen Jessies post about money. Natsuki thought it best to avoid the heavy topics after all she didn't know the girl well enough to be sticking her oar in.
"Yo! Natty!" Jessie greeted her fellow biker...at least, the girl who would be a fellow biker if she were still able to ride...with a friendly wave. Sure, she had been through a lot as of late, and it wasn't even guaranteed that she'd be back for classes this September. But today was a holiday, dammit, and she was going to celebrate.
Of course, a Japanese student wouldn't feel the same way as she did about an American holiday. But, you don't exactly have to be patriotic to enjoy a day of swimming, sunbathing, and great food.
"Maybe," the tall blonde answered with a grin. "Depends on if I can figure out on how about turning that Slayer field into a swimming pool." Jessie then casually kicked the wheeled cooler she had in tow, bringing Natsuki's attention downward. "If not? Then just gonna bake in the sun for a while, grill me up some hot dogs and hamburgers, and have a big ol' time anyway."
Natsuki smiled ruefully at the nickname, why did everyone insist on changing her name in some way, it was all Shizuru's fault she was sure.
As Jessie was talking it struck Natsuki that today was the american holiday she'd been hearing about, that explained the bright bikini top at least. As well as Jessie's want to chill out.
"I've seen it done a few times, it doesn't look too hard to figure out, if you're good with the technical stuff." Natsuki scrunched her nose up, mechanics she could deal with, electronics she could not. "Sounds like a good plan either way, definitely a good day for it. Even early this morning it was hot"
That was all the encouragement that Jessie needed.
"Sounds like a plan," she agreed with that grin widening all the while. "You in? Run go get you a change of clothes and come meet me out there." A quick glance over what her friend wore. "Not gonna catch many rays dressed in workout clothes and all that."
Natsuki was on her way. That was gonna be cool. Jessie assumed more would be showing up too...some would wonder why at least two of the students were dressed for a pool party, and still others would be drawn in by the delicious smells of meat on the grill. Even without any sort of formal announcement, barbecues seemed to draw people out of the woodwork

Already present on the Slayer's Field, though for absolute different reasons, was Akiko. She had received news that soon, one of the ninjas would come to look at her and decide if she was allowed to return to her home for a few weeks. That could only happen, however, if she was good enough in her training. As always, it felt to the young ninja she was never good enough in the eyes of her village elders.
Suddenly, however, she found herself walking against a huge boulder that had not been there before. Akiko let out a small, startled cry, took a step back and blinked at the huge boulder while rubbing her painful nose. What the hell was this?
A moment later, the boulder suddenly disappeared, but now a fearful growling came from behind her. But when Akiko spun around, there was nothing there.
Feeling rather suspicious now, Akiko gripped her katana tightly and began to search for the person responsible for these things.
What was once a relatively normal-looking scene now was a huge mess. Jessie managed to put the smoldering ruins of a building, a volcano, a desert oasis, and a lush tropical jungle in the same spot. Pieces and parts of different scenes all mixed and overlapped as she fiddled with the controls, looking for the big red button that would clear everything and allow her to start over.
"Dammit, all I want is a hole in the ground with some water in it," she complained, not that she was aware that anyone was around to hear her. "Can't be that hard to set up." The novice continued to mash different buttons, trying different combinations until at last, a large section of the earth was replaced with an Olympic-sized pool. "That's better," she said sarcastically, still thinking that she needed to turn the rest of it back to a peaceful grassy landscape, much less add beach chairs and barbecue grills, diving boards and waterslides and the like.
The things Akiko came across while searching for the culprit behind the sudden changes were to put it mildly bizarre. The thing she sometimes had to run away for - like hot lava - only irritated the short ninja more. And just when everything had returned back to normal... there was a loud splash.
Where once ground had been, there was now a huge pool of water and Akiko sank to the bottom like a rock. Because of the suddenness, it took her a moment to realize what was going on and what she had to do.
Several moments later, a wet, highly annoyed ninja stood on the edge of the pool. Dropping all stealth this time, since she noticed there was someone near the controls messing around with the Slayer Field, she rushed over to Jessie. "Nani wo shite iru yo?!" Akiko shouted angrily when she caught sight of the tall, blond girl.
((OOC: Gonna fast-forward a bit to when the party's already started to make things easier. Feel free to jump in anywhere!)) ^_^;"Hey, watchit!" Still behind the grill, Jessie batted away an oversized beach ball as it bounced away from those in the pool and flew slowly and leisurely towards her head. A half-hearted bump and it then sailed back towards the throng of girls laughing and playing in the deep end

Liz had arrived not long after she'd left Jessie to pick up Katelyn, a few other friends and her bikini. She now enjoyed the nice, cool water, the company of all her friends and the nice figure of Katelyn. She especially loved the nice figure of Katelyn. She couldn't quite get enough of it... It made her smile.
"Oh... Katelyn? You hear that?" Curious to someone else's cooking expertise, Liz pulled herself out of the pool. "Looks like some food is ready. Let's see how they are."
Katelyn smiled as it occurred to her how uncertain of herself she was a few short years ago when she first came to this school. Before a certain Seer had reached out to her, befriended her, and so much more

Roxy was running a little late. She could have sworn she owned a swimsuit of some variety...but then again, in hastened packing, such a thing was not first on her list of priorities when she started her little adventure towards New Hampshire. Oh well, that just meant no swimming for her.
Dressed in a very loose green tank top, jungle-cammo shorts and sandles, she strolled along. She had been among those invited by Liz, whom she found hard to say "no" to. As she had learned with Jessie's birthday, the girl sure knew how to be convincing.
Cheap sunglasses covered her gold eyes as a ball bounced to a few of the pool party's patrons. It was a nice day out and the scent of Jessie's grilling was drawing her immediately towards her roommate.
"Hey!" she called out, "Nice party ya got goin' on."
