The Lakota apparently announced that they are leaving the US, and withdrawing from all treaties with the US. Good. I wonder how the US will be responding to this

The Lakota have done this before - specifically the Lakota of Pine Ridge Reservation. My dad used to live on Standing Rock Reservation in the 70s. I'm not sure what you mean by what the US response will be. Many people failed to notice or give a damn. And the Lakota are free to declare themselves independent print their own passports and licenses and do as they like regardless of any US response.
