1) I describe a circle in the air in front of me with my arms, inside of which the air ripples for a moment before becoming still (Shield--this is in addition to Mage Armor, which I would have re-cast when the first ended not long after our encounter with the lamia, bringing my AC to 20). I also move slightly away from wagon #2 (far enough that if the wagon were to be knocked over toward me, I wouldn't be crushed)
2) Negotiate with it, in the form of a 31 damage fireball
3) Assuming I can do so without hitting anyone else in the group at that point, I will fireball it again (31 damage again, coincidently enough). If not, I will instead cast Acid Arrow, with (13+4+any bonuses I may have accrued by then=)17+ to hit on a ranged touch, and a whopping 3 acid damage.
Osilgard will hmm and hah over the adamantine barding before giving into the inevitable and replacing Crusader's old chainmail barding with the late lamia's leavings (I promise, no more alliteration). (Also, depending on how long we've been moving, I should have a couple hours of Crusader's time in this plane left)
As to the rounds of preparation, he will
1) draw and load his crossbow,
2) Ride a short distance ahead of the wagon (10 feet) so as to be a primary target and not endanger others should it swoop down for an attack from the sky. Also it should clear the line of fire for any ranged attacks from party members,
3) Osilgard will fire upon the Heiracosphynx when it is within 160 ft (2 range increments) of him.
1.) I will again change into a camel, hoping that the Heiracosphynx's stupidity will prevent it from figuring out that I am not a normal camel, and therefore decrecing the likelyhood it will attack me. I will also move away from wagon #3, in case the creature attacks the wagons.
2) Giving up Repel Vermin, I cast Summon Nature's Ally (4th level) to summon a Giant Eagle (1d3=1 :P ) to attack the Heiracosphynx.
3) The Giant Eagle appears 45 out from me in the direction of the approaching Heiracosphynx. (If the Heiracosphynx comes close enough this round, the Giant Eagle will do a flyby attack (16+7=23 to hit) doing 8 damage. If the Eagle is not in range, this attack will happen next round.)
For my part, when the Heiracosphynx is in range (180ft), I will cast Flame Strike, calling down a blinding column of divine fire on our foe that delivers 35 damage.
Therkahn is just going to be hanging out near me, preparing to attack if it comes close to us.

1. Before Osilgard takes up his new position, Ana reaches out to touch him uttering a spell that gives Osilgard a faintly "bullish" expression. (cast 'bull's strength' Osilgard)
2. I will move to a position most likely to get as many of our party within the circle and I will raise my arms to the heavens and call down a blessing upon our group. (cast 'bless' group)
3. I will move to the side of the first wagon so as not to be in range of being crushed but near enough to be able to run back or forward to heal any of my fellow travelers. I will fold my hands in prayer, bow my head and be enveloped in white light. (cast 'sanctuary' Ana)
Verealing splits the arrows and quivers with Oulah(if he wants any).
He rides as far as he can in the given rounds toward the front of the caravan and then stops just in front of the first wagon. He then gets his bow and an arrow ready, and will fire once the creature is within 110 ft.
