Back when the bottled-water and filtered-water craze began, my parents got a Brita water filter. Mind you, they live in Seattle. A few years later, they took a tour of the watershed that supplies Seattle. They returned to drinking tap water. The Seattle-area watershed is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, and for a while, there was some serious discussion about bottling and selling the Seattle municipal water supply.
It's utterly ridiculous that bottled water often costs more per gallon than gasoline.
