“Good morning! Aiba’s resident, how can I help you?”
For couple seconds Sho was hesitating, it’s not that late to cut the line and stop this ridiculous idea.
“Hello? Sho-kun?”
Shit, caller id. As expected he should use the plan B to steal Matsujun’s phone.
“Erm, Yusuke-kun?”
“Hey! Merry Christmas! Are you looking for Nii-chan? He said he isn’t going back, with the Music Station and all, is everything alright?”
“No! I mean yeah, everything is alright.”
“Oh, okay, what is it?”
“Uh… can I talk to your mom? I mean, if she is not busy, I can call later though, it’s not impo-“
“What are you talking about, mom always have time for you! Mom! It’s Sho-kun!”
“Wait, Yusu-“
But everything moved so fast and Sho could hear another footstep was coming closer, and the next second he could hear Aiba’s mother’s voice.
“The Sho-kun, Sho-chan?”
“Yep, Sakurai-kun.”
“Hello? Sho-chan?”
Well, now is too late to back off. And that familiar nickname… Sho couldn’t help but smiling.
“Auntie, I’m sorry for the nuisance, everything is alright though, I mean if you are worried about Masaki, he is fine…”
Mrs. Aiba laughed lightly and Sho could imagine her eyes were shining brightly just like a particular guy he knows lots who laughed this way, “I know, if something bad happened to Masaki you won’t be here calling me, it would be Nino instead.”
“Not like I said, he is just calling for the bad, but you can’t control yourself if it’s anything related to Masaki, I can’t blame you…”
The nervous laughter escaped Sho’s lips, very sharp…
“Then what is it dearie…?”
“Ah… Nothing important, it’s just… today is Masaki’s birthday…”
“Right, we have called him last night right, sorry, I supposed you guys a bit busy that time?”
If only the earth could swallow him, he guessed that Masaki’s mom could hear how breathless his son last night no matter how hard he tried to hide it, pun intended, “I’m sorry…”
“What for, I’m happy he is together with you, he barely deserved you. Thank God, he is getting himself a capable boyfriend.”
“It’s nothing like that… I won’t be this happy if it’s not because of him.”
“That’s sweet, Sho-chan… Please take care of him.”
“It’s my pleasure…”
Vaguely he heard the staff was calling for them, and maybe in couple minutes Aiba would try to find him, he was gone way too long for a toilet standard.
“Sho-chan?”
“Thank you.”
There he said it firmly.
“Eh? What for, dear?”
“For… everything…”
See, he sounded drunk for not making any sense at all. But he heard another laughter so he supposed Mrs. Aiba received his message well, just like every time he babbled into her phone, “Now, you are being emotional again on his birthday? Take him out and tell him you are happy to have him instead call an old woman like me…”
“We will have a dinner after this… but before that I just want to say thank you to you… I know I’m not making any sense right now… I just-“
“Shhh… Sho-chan, calm down, I understand…”
“I… okay… I have to go…”
“Yeah, sure, tell him happy birthday once more, or you didn’t tell him you call?”
Ashamed for the nuisance he made, Sho shook his head, “No…”
He could hear her understanding laughter, “It’ll be our little secret, then make him happier this day, okay?”
“Yeah, I will try my best!”
“Then, I can thank you for the same reason you have… Thank you for make him happy…”
Sho smiled, as expected she understands his blur-incoherent message well, “I need to run so…”
“Yes sure! Take care dear!”
“Thank you…”
He put his phone neatly to his pocket right when another particular Aiba barged into the room, “Sho-chan! Where have you been! We have to be ready in 5 minutes!”
“Okay, okay…”
“It’s not ‘okay, okay’, you will make us get scolded, and I don’t want to cancel our dinner just to listen at Manager’s nags.”
Sho chuckled.
“What? What’s the joke?”
“There is no joke, and we need to run back.”
Aiba eyed him suspiciously but he was letting it go. Sho was never be this glad, he promised he would tell her directly someday, but for now he guessed it’s enough as long as she understands… how grateful he is for her... to bring his source of happiness to this world…

It's just a failed fluff that cannot gone from my head so here is it, while I have half of a day free I finally wrote it down. I wonder if someone will actually read? XD
My hiatus kind-of is still going though and maybe my RL will be even more severe from this point. We will see~ It's nice to be here anyhow~ ^^v
