House 7x21 & Castle 3x23

House

I think Shore has kinda lost his grip with this show. This ep he wrote was not that great, imo. I'm sure there are quite a few reasons that this ep should be great, but I feel so apathetic that I can't see past it anymore.

House feels like the boy who cried wolf way too many times for me to care now. I'd rather get he just gets eaten by the wolf so I don't have to bother. Does that make me a terrible person and a fan? I even told my brother that House should just die to put us out of our misery (and his own I suppose). I know, that's cold and cruel, and my brother was shocked that came out of my mouth because he knows I'm a hardcore fan. But honestly, I'm so fed up of the same thing over and over again. Shore and co. just want to beat us over the head with a glimpse of hope and snatch it away in the next ep. They did it with the ketamine, they did it with House/Cuddy. Now they'll do it again with this experimental drug. There is nothing NEW or exciting about this. House will have some kind of false hope and then he'll crash harder than before. Whoopdeedoo. They just switch it up between his leg and his emotional issues and apparently more blood.

I WILL say that if anything this ep and the promo for the next ep has definitely proven more for an AU theory that people are spouting. The caveat is that the time shift isn't where people are hoping/expecting it to be. I think it'll be in the last two eps, just like the S5 finale (Under My Skin/Both Sides Now). There are good reasons out there for it it happening after Unwritten or after Recession Proof or even Bombshells. There is good evidence out there, I won't deny that. I personally don't believe in most of that because a casual viewer would not pick up on that, and if this whole season turned out to be some kind of coma dream, they would lose even more viewers than they are already. But if there will be some kind of hallucination/dream AGAIN, it'd be in House's DIY bathtub surgery when he's passed out from pain/blood loss. That's my theory anyway. Here's why.

Cuddy appears as his savior again.

Now I know promos are meant to be misleading and Cuddy going over to House's place is highly unusual since they're both avoiding each other like crazy, BUT he always has envisioned her as his savior. Lucas mentioned it last season in Known Unknowns when he runs his mouth about House's mental breakdown. Then it came true in Help Me when she appeared and told him she loved him and she intervened in his relapse. Now she comes back right when he's about to split his leg open to search for tumors? Seriously?

I'm not saying Cuddy doesn't still care for him, because she still does, but it almost looks like she's woken up in the middle of the night to be there. Did he call her? Did Wilson call her and she's coming in after Wilson finds House? Or did her House-sense tingle and she needed to get over there? Or 13 finally spilled to Cuddy and she rushes over ASAP? It could be any number of things, but if that doesn't get cleared up, then I'll buy into that AU theory just a bit.

To be honest, I don't feel for House though. To me, he's done this to himself. If the experimental drug is responsible for the tumors, then I honestly don't have any pity for him or sympathy. I couldn't muster anything for him this ep. He was going around trying to supposedly save himself with his leg problem, but it was so insane I just stopped caring. I kept shaking my head this ep. He's in a dark place, I get it, but we've been there so many times now that I feel like we've hit the big Repeat button in the sky instead of Reboot. It's an endless loop of misery and if that's the rest of House's life, forget it. I don't watch TV to be depressed constantly.

-The fighter storyline felt like an anvil for House. Like he was trying to find redemption through this fighter. I kept yelling at the TV, "He's not your redemption, House." And when the fighter said, "Figure yourself out first" or whatever the direct quote was, I cheered.

-Leaving the team to their own devices was kind of entertaining only because Taub got all the best lines and he's such a jerk.

-I kinda like the fact that 13 is House's confidante now. She found him, not Wilson, shooting up that drug. He freely told her about the experiment. I love it. I love their bond.

-Wasn't a big fan of the team and House acting like kids though. House destroying Wilson's office? I wasn't really amused by that. I found it extremely childish. Maybe my patience has just worn out. I'm sure if that happened in S4 I would've laughed, but no. Everything seems bitter now, or have a bitter edge to it.

-Yay for Cuddy's 20 second appearance? I do like that Foreman called her out on her avoidance as well. "House is fine. House is always fine." You could tell she didn't believe a word of it and she's worried, but she knows she can't do a thing and he'd just tell her he's 'fine' anyway.

-House's leg. The scar looked... better than the previous shots we've had of it. It didn't look as mangled as it was in the premiere. Of course after he slices his leg open and then gets rushed to the hospital, it'll look much worse than before, but still, it kinda bothered me that it didn't look as bad. Or maybe I'm just being extremely picky or my mind is failing me. Also, having his leg catch him was nice, but ultimately we all know how that'll end.

Whatever. Next week looks interesting. I'm not holding my breath for anything nearly as epic. HL's acting will probably move me, but other than that, I'm kinda over it. Maybe I just need more Cuddy but as long as they keep avoiding one another, that ain't gonna happen. Meh.

The thing I liked the MOST? Hugh's hair = A++++ He finally got a haircut and it looks FABULOUS. Also, it was kinda hot to see him box. The close ups on his arms added a few bonus points too. ;)

Castle

LOL beauty pageants. Oh man. At least this was different than the other one. One of the contestants as the blackmailer? Sweet. Except I figured out the murderer at the beginning lol. It was a lucky guess, tbh, but still I got it right. ;)

The whole relationship deal between Alexis and Ash was such a typical high school dilemma. I had the same deal except I was the one planning on leaving and my bf at the time was staying (and I wasn't accepted to all these Ivy League schools because I'm not smart enough). I almost went to UC Davis which is only a couple hours from my place instead of UCI all the way down in SoCal, but then I had a reality check and realized that no boy is going to keep me from going to the school that I really want to go to. Even if we made it or not, I was going to go where I wanted to and no one was going to take that choice away from me, not even my parents (my mom was lobbying for Davis which was another reason to not go there). We ended up breaking up a month and a half before I left, and I never regretted my decision to move.

Which is why I'm not happy that Alexis is choosing to go to Stanford to be with Ash. You're in high school, it's not the end of the world. There are other people. Of course most high school kids don't understand that, but come on. Moving across the country for a boy? Seriously? Psh. Puhlease. Bad decision Alexis. Also, you won't be on the show and then what will Castle do at home and be with? Unless they really are going to get Beckett and Castle together at the end of this season. Either way, GO TO AN EAST COAST SCHOOL, ALEXIS. THERE ARE MORE IVY LEAGUES ON THE EAST COAST. Not that Stanford is bad or anything. Oh no. I'm not gonna diss a CA school. I just want Alexis to be there and I hope she realizes that moving for a boy is not a good idea. People can make long distance relationships work. A couple of my friends did it and now they're engaged. Another couple of my friends tried it and they broke up after the first year and now are happy in other relationships. It happens. Life moves on. I just want Alexis to stay lol.

I will say Ash was brave in approaching Castle. Awkward but brave. He looks different from before. Is he really the same guy? Maybe my memory is failing me here too.

Okay, Castle's quote: "Relationships aren't hard." What. They are hard work though.

Then Montgomery's quote: "Just keep showing up." THAT IS A BIG FACTOR. Look at what happened to House and Cuddy. House was a no show and when he was, he really wasn't and Cuddy left him. I bet Josh and Beckett will break up because of that same issue too. Yes he showed up during the two-parter, but how long will she put up with that? Showing up once doesn't mean much in the long run if he doesn't keep showing up.

I love Montgomery freaking out about what to get his wife for their 30th anniversary. Aww. The whole retiring thing scared me though, omg. Won't lie. Because of that I bet he'll die. Or someone else connected to Beckett's mom's case instead of someone on the team. If any of the core team dies, I will bawl my eyes out.

I do love Castle when he's in daddy!mode. I love that he has serious convos with Alexis and gives her darn good advice when it comes down to it. And he's THERE for her. He shows up. He's such a good father. Aww.

More about the retiring thing. "He's like the Brett Farve of the NYPD." LOLOLOLOL DYYYYYYING. For those of you who don't know him or follow American football, Brett Farve is the Minnesota Vikings quarterback who says he'll retire every season only to come back every season and play. I hope he really is retiring from the field this season. He should've left after his amazing run in the almost-win with the Vikings a couple seasons ago.

NEXT WEEK IS THE FINALE. I AM GOING TO DIE. I WANT IT NOW. IT LOOKS AMAZING. MORE OF BECKETT'S MOM'S CASE. CASTLE LOOKING LIKE THE BAD GUY. CASTLE AND BECKETT SEEMINGLY BREAKING OFF THEIR PARTNERSHIP AGAIN AS IS THE CUSTOM AT THE END OF EVERY SEASON. LOTS OF SHOOTING. A HELICOPTER. ALS;KDJFA;LSDKFJALS;D YES YES YES. CASTLE, HOW YOU SLAY ME. PLEASE DON'T GIVE US SUCH A CRUEL CLIFFHANGER THIS TIME. UGH. I HATE THOSE SO MUCH.

Btw, I AM EXCITED FOR NCIS. FORGET GLEE. I WANNA KNOW WHAT GOES DOWN WITH THE P2P KILLER.
