House and Chicago Code finales

House

House, I can't even. I just can't.

Ugh, I can't even begin. I feel disrespected as a fan. That was a huge slap to the face. I even apologized to my BFF for getting her hooked onto this show. That's how embarrassing and ashamed I felt for being a House fan after this disaster. If they can't respect their own work, then why should I? Because this feels like one big joke. I've gotten so many people into this show or back into it... for this? Just... no.

Thank you, TPTB, for making it even easier to leave. So easy. And you know, here I was depressed like hell that Lisa Edelstein was leaving the show only to end up with this. Now I'm happy as hell that she left and won't be coming back. I'm glad she's leaving this sinking ship, glad she's going out there to find something better, something that will appreciate her talents and hopefully give her a character that is far superior than the one Cuddy was reduced to. LE deserves better, so major kudos to her. I support her all the way, even when I selfishly wanted her back, but now it just cements it.

You wanna know what's even BETTER? GY. Omg. GY and his effing ridiculous tweets. Apparently he knows the reasons why LE left and he's tried getting her back and so has David Shore AND Katie Jacobs. He said this:

"@EdelsteinSmiles no hope right now. i wish she was coming back. i've fought the fight. as did katie and david."

Now I'm wondering if her leaving had something to do with creative differences, not just network contract BS. Not that I'd blame her one bit with what they've done to Cuddy. Honestly, she wouldn't have a role next season anyway with Cuddy putting out that restraining order against House.

So you wanna know the best part?

I'll never have to live through this again. Never. God, what a nightmare.

Oh, and there was that hallway scene that was purely House/Cuddy... only for it to go sideways and inside out and oh, have House drive his effing car into Cuddy's home because we believe in shock value and gimmicks more than actual storytelling.

I understand jealously. I do. Oh believe me, I do. I had a nasty case of that for a while and I hated who I became and hated how quick to anger I was, so I decided to get over it. And I did. For the most part. But I never DROVE MY CAR INTO MY FRIEND'S HOUSE WHEN HIS GF WAS HERE.

I get that maybe House thought Cuddy was lying when he saw that Banker having dinner with Cuddy, Julia and Julia's husband. I get that he was probably unbelievable crushed and hurt. I get that he wanted to lash out. I don't get driving into a house. Yes, he needed to snap. I've been waiting for that for a while, but honestly? He could've thrown the hairbrush through the window. He could've done something else. He could've gotten into another bar fight or break everything in his apartment. But this? Incomprehensible.

Where do you go from there? Better yet, how do you redeem a character after that? HOW?

Good job, writers, House has officially become irredeemable in my eyes. I have absolutely zero sympathy. I hope he gets thrown in jail. And changes? What changes? Oh, he's gotten worse, THAT'S A CHANGE! A GAMECHANGER! OMG. WOW. GENIUS! /sarcasm

He's taken more pills (especially after every scene with Cuddy), he drives his car into Cuddy's home, and then he RUNS AWAY, leaving Wilson and Cuddy with another mess to clean up. The worst mess yet, and he's completely destroyed Cuddy's life and home along with it.

And he's happy and satisfied and relieved about it.

That is the most frightening of all. (After he magically ran away on foot to the airport and booked a ticket to the warmest place he could find. Yeeeah.) But the disgusting part isn't just the car crash, it's the aftermath -- it's his reaction. Seriously? You could've killed Cuddy, her sister, her bro-in-law and potential date and possibly even RACHEL and you're okay with that? How is that even redeemable? How does that make people want to tune in next season? Explain that to me. I watched an interview with Nigel Lithgoe about how American Idol was panning out and the future of SYTYCD and he said, "Oh, you always worry about losing the core audience." Well, TPTB, you just did it. Poof. I bet more than just the House/Cuddy fans are pissed.

He'll die in a ditch in the series finale and no one will know or care. That's what will happen and good riddance. Cuddy and Wilson are better off without someone as destructive like him in their lives.

It doesn't make sense character-wise because I've never seen him so destructive before. SELF-destructive yes, but actively physically hurting others, no. I was going to go onto a rant about the shove into the wall, but that turned out to be not as harsh as the promos made it seem and it was surprisingly the best scene and the most honest scene between House and Cuddy. So to see this boggles me. He's never physically harmed his friends. While no one got hurt in the crash, it still doesn't make sense to do this. It's just... ;askdjf;laskdjf;l

Whatever. No more thinking about this. Taub's two baby storyline was actually the most surprising moment for me because I didn't expect the writers to pull that and because it was funny. Then again not too long after, House rammed his car into Cuddy's dining room, so what the hell, right?

If there is an AU reason to all this, no one will care by that reveal because no one will watch the show. They destroyed House beyond recognition and beyond redemption. Maybe DS will finally get that roadtrip he planned for before and he'll end up in some accident and back at PPTH except Cuddy won't be there anymore because... actually, I don't care how they'll write her out because I won't be there to watch. If it IS and AU, I don't know how Cuddy will be written out there either unless she died while he was in a coma or she left without another word. Or maybe House really did die in that bathtub and this is what hell is like. For the viewers anyway.

Whatever.

The bad part is I have ZERO inclination to write that House fic I had planned. It could still work if I ignored the finale because then there was SOME redeemable quality in him in After Hours, but I honestly just don't have the will. Ugh. Way to fail, House. Just wait to epically fail.

And here I thought the LTM S2 finale was the worst I've ever seen. That's saying something.

Oh, Chicago Code, how I will miss you. After this House mess, you and Lie to Me definitely should've had another shot. It'd be way better than this mess and at least Cal was starting to redeem himself. sigh.

Chicago Code went out with a bang. That was an ending. Shawn Ryan planned it perfectly, especially with a cancellation on the line. We got backstory, we got somewhat happy endings, we got closure on some big storylines. That is how you do a finale. I am satisfied with that and couldn't ask for more.

tv: chicago code, tv: house, rage, wtf is this?, hiei will send you to hell, kakashi will rip you to shreds, house: season 7, tv: lie to me
