Castle 4x04
I am so in love! With Det. Kevin Ryan!
We got an ep ALL ABOUT RYAN. RYAN! HE'S MY FAV! HE'S IN THE TOP 3 (WITH CASTLE AND BECKETT TIED FOR FIRST BUT THAT MAY CHANGE). SERIOUSLY, MY LOVE FOR RYAN HAS GROWN EXPONENTIALLY. ;ASLKDJFA;LSDKFJAS;LDKFALSDKFJALSDK LIKE I WANT TO JUST WRITE RYAN FICS FOREVER. I *HEART* HIM SO MUCH.
Right. So, the ep.
Looks like the writers didn't take my plot away from me. 3XK pretty much had nothing to do with the case except the gun. Phew. But there is no way I can fit what happened in this ep with my plot. It just wouldn't work, although I was thinking of drawing on Ryan's Narcotics days, but not like this. I'd have to take bits and pieces of this ep and kinda just put my own twist on it, which I have no problem doing. It'll just be a rewrite of this ep in a sense. I'm okay with that. Guess I won't have to do that Castle in prison story as my backup, but I may change my mind. We'll see where I'm feeling when it gets closer to November for NaNo.
I'm also guessing the writers are reminding us that they haven't completely forgotten the 3XK storyline. I'm hoping the two parter this season will focus on that because the dirty bomb storyline didn't work as well as the Nikki Heat stalker/psychopath one from S2. Or if they use the two parter to wrap up Johanna Beckett's murder, I'm all for that too. Because that needs to be solved. This season. If it drags on too long, it'll be terrible and turn into Bones. Even Bones solved Brennan's family issue by the end of S3.
I keep digressing. Why do I do that?
RYAN. TAKING THE LEAD. PARTNERING UP WITH BECKETT. CASTLE TAKING THE BACKSEAT FOR ONCE. ESPOSITO BEING AN AWESOME PARTNER AND RETURNING THE FAVOR FOR WHEN RYAN BACKED HIM UP. YES. HOW I LOVE THIS 12TH PRECINCT FAMILY. Okay, Gates needs to start showing more than just one dimension soon or else she'll just be lame and boring and a waste of a character.
-When Espo came out in those ridiculous clothes and that hat, I LOL'D. HOW CRAZY IS HE? LOOOOOL.
-Ryan with his hair down without gel was hooooooot. I prefer him like that.
-Having Beckett and Castle basically take a backseat this ep was strange at first. I kept having to blink every time I saw Ryan with Beckett. I liked it though. I've wanted to see Beckett interact with the boys more. Yes, I know the show is called CASTLE, but it wouldn't hurt to see them switch it up a bit.
-I did like Beckett acting more like a boss/supervisor. She is worried about them and their jobs, which is a nice turn around from the premiere where she didn't care because she was so absorbed in her mother's case. I know she always has their back and seeing her actively respond to that was very nice.
-I feel Alexis' pain. Now she's overcompensating and it's kinda funny to watch in a weird sort of masochistic way. I'm the same but I don't overcompensate the way she does by taking on waaaay more responsibility.
-Loving the Asian drug ring thing going. Only because I want to see more Asians on TV. Of course they're bad, but whatever. The entire Lee family was fun to watch. Phillip the total bad boy and Ben the sweet innocent-ish one. Aww. And now he's going into WitSec with a new life which I'm sure he'll be found and killed soon because that's how they work. What was strange was that Ryan announced where he was moving to. Yes, okay, moving across the country is good, but I thought NO ONE was supposed to know where the witnesses move to?
-Ryan getting angry and getting into people's faces and shoving them and being so determined is incredibly hot. Ryan being awesome is well, AWESOME. It's about time he's gotten his own ep. Espo got his at the end of S2 so it's only right that Ryan gets one. Took long enough. I'm hoping his and Jenny's wedding will be cute and hilarious.
-Castle being more like a cop! Hmm. That could go either way. But he is thinking more like a cop and he was even drinking out of a 12th mug. Hee.
I can't say enough about this. It'll literally just be more gushing about Ryan and how flawed and perfect he is. I will admit that they got me with the fake shooting. I wondered why that cop shot him without much warning. Ben clearly wasn't going to fire and yet they shot him. Btw, the shot where Ryan is 'reviving' Ben -- did you see those arms? He's pretty ripped. Anyway, nice fake shooting.
Next week looks like typical Castle again. I'm assuming the promos are misleading because if Castle really is that stupid, then he definitely doesn't deserve Beckett. No wonder she won't surrender her heart to him just yet. I mean, really? I'm reserving judgment until then. Although I may be brain dead by then because I'll either die from the Niners-Lions game the day before or the midterm that Monday or both, so it may not make any sense whatsoever lol.

In sports news, the Niners destroyed the Bucs yesterday! 48-3! We're 4-1! And going up against the undefeated Detroit Lions next week. Yikes. But I'm stoked and excited. I haven't been this excited about the Niners in aaaages. Thank God for Jim Harbaugh. I'll probably fail the midterm the next day because of him though. :P
