Castle 4x07
I haven't talked about the last three eps of Castle now and that still probably won't happen. I'll just talk about last night's most EPIC ep. This is me also procrastinating on my study guide and NaNoWriMo (although I have almost 600 words written).
Some people may say that this ep was predictable and it was for a bit. The first half was basically ANOTHER one of my NaNo plots until it took that turn with the seizure. (mine was actually in a prison, not a bank, but still basic principle. I may still write it in the future.) Are the writers and I on the same wavelength or something? They're killing me here.
Still, it was an excellent ep. After all the drama I've been through with House in the last few months, this is the show that I needed. It's fun, it's lighthearted, it's serious when it needs to be, it makes me melt into a puddle of goo. Haters to the left.
-I've been wondering about what they'll do with Martha since Alexis has her own stuff she's going through with Ash and coming to terms with the fact her dad is so in love with Beckett he's willing to risk his life for her, and then they kept the continuity with her acting school! She needs a loan and refuses Castle's help. Suhweet. She's a stubborn lady and now I see why and how she raised such a gentleman in Castle. And why he's so attracted to Beckett. :P
-The robbers' aliases! Drs. Howser, Quinn, Huxtable and Trapper John! HEE! I LOL'd when I heard that. Then of course the shout outs to House and Sheppard. That just made me smile. Okay, I will admit, my plotline did not have people dressing up in scrubs and calling each other fake doctors.
-I love Beckett's face when Castle says, "Please tell me you need me." She looked so terrified, like she was caught in her lie about not remembering Castle's famous three words. I do love that she complains about him abandoning him during paperwork. I LOVE that she sits there and takes the time to talk to him because he's bored (and she is too, I bet). I love how she gets all protective and starts threatening the robber on the phone at least two times in the ep. She'll hunt him down and then put a bullet through his skull. Aww, she's so protective of her partner.
-Okay, PARTNER. THEY ARE PARTNERS. They keep reiterating that. I have no problem with that because I love when they acknowledge it and it's cute when they tease each other about it. And they really are partners in almost every sense of the word except romantically. I thought Castle wouldn't correct Trapper John about being Beckett's boyfriend, but he did and called her his partner. Love it. In a sense, that's deeper than boyfriend -- to me at least. Ryan/Espo were excellent partners, even before Castle/Beckett found their groove and now C/B is on their level.
"I even help you solve murders while I'm a hostage. Beckett, I think you found the perfect partner."
Oh, Castle. You are perfect. Except for the paperwork deal. One day, he'll stay with her through the paperwork and they'll have fun. In fact, I want to write that fic. BUT I CAN'T BECAUSE OF NANO. SOMEONE REMIND ME OF THIS WHEN NANO IS DONE. I WILL WRITE THIS FIC AND FINISH THE OTHER ONE I STARTED AFTER THE PREMIERE. REMIND ME.
-Love that Castle is always so calm in the face of danger. He's really good when it comes down to the wire and he pulls through. Castle could make a pretty good quarterback. I'll stop there before I go into my football analogy. He's not afraid of facing Trapper John head on, he comes up with little plans on the fly that helped them out, he did end up getting all the hostages out alive. And best of all, he had the utmost faith in Beckett to save him and understand his messages. Now THAT, my friends, is true partnership.
-Espo called Ryan Castle Jr.! You know how much that makes me smile? Hee. I was so happy when Ryan and Castle went to talk to that medium about demons and ghosts in the last ep. Omg, NEED MOAR RYAN/CASTLE MOMENTS PLS.
-Alexis telling Beckett that they BETTER BE ALL RIGHT, YOU HEAR ME? THEY'RE ALL I HAVE! I kinda liked that Alexis was terrified and telling Beckett off because I think she's still a little mad at her. I love Beckett grabbing Alexis and telling her that Castle and Martha will be fine. Beckett knows Castle and she has all the faith in him to pull through. Like Castle said in the last ep, when two people really believe, anything could happen. Once Alexis realizes this, nothing will stop them.
-Alexis breaking up with Ash! Okay, totally saw that coming with him not calling, not keeping up with their dates, it being long distance yadda yadda. It just hit a little sore spot because one of my good friends is going through a tough break up that was originally long distance so I can see how much that hurt. But good for Alexis! She's not taking anymore of his crap and calling quits. I wonder if Ash will keep calling her, asking for her back. Or magically show up one ep or if the writers are really done with him.
-The feast looked absolutely delicious. The almost toast to saving each other's lives. Did Castle really save her nine times? I don't believe that for a second. And really, he was keeping score? REALLY? CASTLE? I love Beckett's face when he told her that. I was hoping she'd dump her wine on him, but they are just too adorable for me.
-Okay, final point because I've written way more than I have for NaNo at this point. The scene where Beckett finds Castle in the bank unharmed was so gorgeous. Her voice was hoarse from shouting his name, then she's still in her paramedic uniform with her police vest over it and she cuts him loose and just smiles. Actually, she has her hand on his lapel while she just smiles at him until Martha interrupts their moment. LOL OH MARTHA. HOW I LOVE YOU FOR THAT. And Castle just kinda goes, 'Seriously? AGAIN? How many interrupted moments will we have?' They nearly kissed. I was hoping for a hug though. Or hand holding. But hand on chest works for me.
CASTLE, STOP BEING AMAZING. AND STOP STEALING MY STORYLINES, I CAN'T COMPARE.
But don't stop being amazing. I need this in my life. Mondays rock again.
Next week looks fun! The boys in Atlantic City? YES. Please pull an Ocean's 11 or something. PLEASE.
