So here we are lj.

We survived the 2008 election! Let's wait another week and the politics should ebb. I do have a question for you though, lj. Am I a bigot? That's the buzzword for Nov. 5 so I wanted to jump on the bandwagon and use it in my post. I suppose the answer depends on whether or not I agree with other people's opinions on certain issues or not. Isn't that ( Read more... )

If it wasn't a No vote, I would like to direct your attention to your reply to my post: http://jaligard.livejournal.com/156737.html

"And for the record in case anybody missed this. Let me make this perfectly clear. I support gay rights. I support heterosexual rights. I support bisexual rights. I support elderly rights. I support white people's rights, and Vietnamese, and African-american, and Brazilian, and Chinese, the list continues. I support people's rights."

So I'm going to assume you voted "No"...but you sure have a weird idea about diversity and all that.

lol, I think you're finally starting to catch on. I know I piss you off to no end, but I'm pretty sure you'll eventually learn my flavor. It's quite unique and often turns people away, but I don't mind. Those closest to me eventually get to know what I'm really like and not what I appear to be. I'm just a cynical and often sarcastic ass.

. . .and *that* is why I read Jason's journal :-).

I hear you: In order to maintain a healthy society, we must have different beliefs. They may not connect with our own, but they need to exist. Otherwise we have a society of mindless drones who are directed to think *one* way. Let's not be that Orwellian just yet.

I'll admit I'm one of the people who are angry about Prop 8 passing, based on one thing: it's denying someone the right to *choose* to marry. In a country that champions personal freedom and the ability to choose one's way, having a worthwhile right taken away --from anyone-- makes me ill.
