Yeah, but the 1950's were all about revisiting Victorian life and sensibilities.

And is losing your "nervous energies" a bad thing? Sounds like it just makes you calmer... :)

Also, did you hear that Rodney's adopting a baby???

Dude! I did not hear that Rodney's adopting (I miss all the good Hiram gossip). That's awesome. And you're right about the 50s, I've kinda lost my sharpness about stuff we used to learn. Are they getting a boy or a girl? I need details :)

Oh goodness. That stuff doesn't surprise me at all, but I read it anyway. Crazy. The sad thing is that some people (*ahem* my parents) still believe that stuff.

It didn't surprise me either, but it weird to see it. Its hard to believe that people still think like that, but I guess that they probably weren't raised to question things as much as we have been. Maybe? Haha, I don't know.

That was great. I'm glad you brought that to our attention...now I know why I'm always so lifeless and tired. Maybe I should save up some of my nervous energies. Anyways...

I'd love to read the whole book.

Rodney adopting a baby? Interesting...

Yeah, I guess he already has it too. He got the baby when it was 4 days old. Still trying to find out name/gender (or sex, if you want to get technical!)

I wonder if it talks about how women who go to college and try to learn also expend too much nervous energies. I remember learning about that line of thinking in one of Rodney's classes...
