Colouring Tutorial, Version 1

Learn to make the following icon:



Step 1

First, create your base. Crop, screen, sharpen, etc.



Step 2

New layer, fill with #000000 and set to "colour".

Step 3

Another layer, fill with #252525 and set to "lighten"

Step 4

New layer, fill with #dadada and set to "multiply".

Step 5

Insert this texture (made by me), and set to "screen"

Step 6

At this point you may need to play with your base image to get the nicest results. I would suggest duplicating it and setting it to 'soft light', though screening the base/multiplying the base may also be needed.

For this example, I duplicated the base and set to 'soft light'.
