You are my savior in my time of need
“Kraven, why don’t you want me by your side?” Erika asked him softly.
“Why must you ask me that all the time? I do want you by my side,” he replied curtly, his eyes never leaving the piece of paper from his hands.
“No you don’t, you want Selene to be your mate. You want her to be your Queen. Why? I’m just as good as she is,” Erika said, her voice quivering with anger and tears.
Blinded by faith I couldn't hear
All the whispers, the warnings so clear.
Kraven let out a cruel laugh.
“Erika, don’t compare yourself to Selene. Selene is on a whole different playing field than you,” he sneered.
“What the hell does that mean?” she demanded.
“That means, you could never be the woman, or the vampire, that Selene is, you can’t even hold a candle to how magnificent she is,” he replied.
Anger burned deep within Erika.
“Fuck you, Kraven!” she yelled before storming out of his chambers.
Kraven growled and grabbed her arm before she could reach the door. His hand came crashing down against her cheek. Erika stumbled back as pain surged through her body. He had never hit her that hard before.
“Don’t speak to me like that ever again or I will make you regret it,” he told her in a low, dangerous voice.
The smile when you tore me apart.
You took my heart,
Deceived me right from the start.
“I’m s…sorry, I won’t speak to you like that again,” Erika said softly, cowering.
His angry eyes turned soft and he pulled her body close to his. His fingers tangled in her blonde hair.
“Oh, my sweet Erika, I do want you by my side,” he told her softly.
She couldn’t help but believe the lies that fell from his lips. She knew that she shouldn’t. He had deceived her over and over again, but the love she had for him made her believe every single little lie.
You showed me dreams,
I wished they turn into real.
You broke a promise and made me realize.
It was all just a lie.
