Notes: Review…please? I like Nickie, but I won’t deny that she is deliciously evil, hence her evilness in this ficcie.

“Nickie please, I need to know who voted against me,” Margie told her firmly.

Nickie gave her that fake, sweet smile of hers.

“Ok it was me, I was the one who kept voting no,” Nickie replied.

Margie’s face fell some.

“Oh,” she said softly.

“Only because you’re so needy and you need a lot of reassurance. I didn’t want this to turn into the Margene show,” Nickie explained.

“Well thank you for telling me, I’m glad you’re back,” Margie smiled before returning to her own house.

Nickie sighed and pulled the credit card bill out of her purse from her hotel stay. She smiled contently to herself before going upstairs to tuck the boys in. She returned to the kitchen once they were sound asleep and put the kettle on to boil. The words Barb had said to her earlier haunted her now.

“I’m sorry I didn’t die Nickie,” she could hear Barb repeat over and over again in her head.

“How could you say that Barb? I prayed for you every night to get better, I took care of you,” Nickie had told her.

Truth be told, Nickie had wanted Barb to die. She knew that it was wrong to wish that on anyone, but deep down in her slightly twisted soul, she had really wished Barb would have died. There was nothing more Nickie wanted then to be first wife. Her mother was first wife to the prophet. First wife to the almighty Roman Grant. Nickie wanted the power the first wife had.

Bill loved her, but not as much as he loved Barb. Nickie hated the power Barb had over her, but she loved the power she had over Margene. Nickie hated them both so much sometimes. It was a deep, burning hatred that boiled deep in her soul. She would never admit to herself that she was jealous of Barb and Margie, but she was. It was jealousy that motivated her to do a lot of things.

That is why she told the family she wanted to bring a new soul into the family. She knew it would make Barb jealous because she couldn’t have anymore kids after the cancer. She knew it would make Margene jealous because Margie would lose some time with Bill. The tea kettle went off and she poured it into a mug to make some tea. She heard the glass door slide open and Margie walked in.

“Sorry, I left my baby monitor here,” she smiled.

“That’s ok, would you like some tea?” Nickie asked her.

“Sure that would be nice, thank you.”

Nickie fixed them both a cup of tea and they sat down on the couch to drink it.

“I’m really glad you’re back Nickie, this family wouldn’t be the same without you,” Margie told her softly.

Just for a brief second, Nickie felt her heart melt some.
