Hmm, so apparently I have the opportunity to escort my grandmother on a trip to Puerto Rico. She was born there and wouldn't mind going back one last time, although it's not like I have to live with the shame of ignoring her last request if I don't go or anything - she doesn't have her sacred heart set on it. Just a nice thing to do, especially ( Read more... )

Puerto Rico's not a country, it's a United States commonwealth. And yeah, actually they do mostly speak English.

However, now she's not so sure about going. On a lot of issues she changes her mind like that, and apparently this is one of those issues. Do I really want to be on an airplane with her when she changes her mind again? Could she get really insistent and personally hold it against me? Do I want to find out?

Probably not.

Fell on your journal and liked it, so I added you.

I was in Chile last August and nobody there speaks a 2nd language, so it was a little hard for me at first, until I learned enough to get around. In Puerto Rico it should be easier, and I'm going there too this Christmas (on a cruise). Hope you enjoy it, as for me, I'm dying to visit P.R.
