[Much like old habits, old memories die hard. Instincts formed back when he was an almost-innocent, almost-harmless amnesiac apprentice to a bothersome king lead the Superior toward the source of the outcry. His mind is still lazily working out the details of his own transformation, but Vexen's raising some sort of fuss and it's... usually a good idea to check in on things when the Academic starts yelling.]

[Fortunately, the cause of this outcry is... comparatively harmless: if he does have Axel's powers, he hasn't figured out how to use them yet, and consequently the house is at least saved any inconvenient fires.

That being said, a pissy Vexen is very rarely a good thing, if only because what little social graces he has go completely out the metaphoric window.
