I started watching the Jennifer Ehle/Colin Firth version of Pride and Prejudice today. It is utterly lovely. How did I go this long without watching it? I was just at the part where Darcy confesses his love to Elizabeth, and she's upset because Fitzwilliam told her Darcy was the one who broke up Jane and Bingley, and is about to let Darcy have it, ( Read more... )

I can't wait to see that one. i bought the Kiera Knightly version and a good friend of mine (the one who made fun of me until i read P&P) was horrified.

BTW: i bought you a gift in London, but Dad's gonna bring it out on his next visit.

The Kiera Knightly version is well-done, but it's a matter of 2 hours vs 6 hours, so of course the BBC version seems more complete. Also, Colin Firth just nails Darcy.

some of the jokes are actually directly related to the c.f. version. you'll love it!

and the jane austen book club, if you haven't seen that -- it's a bit fluffy, but enjoyable.
