due to impending exams ,my non-academic reading has been reduced to loo reading.i am in want of chocolate doughnuts and sympathetic pats on the head.

and i want to know why stars are given boring names like SDF-667 and hurricanes are named Ivan and Katrina

and now i must dive into urine

although I find the powdered donuts much more gratifying, i do feel your pain and will def. give you empathetic (rather than sympathetic, due to the fact that my school just started and i don't even have time to go to the "loo" much less read there) patts on the head.

Well, new planets are named "Xena" and you just know that someone involved in that decision was a huge fan of the TV show. *eyeroll*

I think all hurricanes were named after women till the 80s or something because of some misogynist Australian expert guy. Anyway, they're easier to remember if they have names. I mean, "Look out, SS-763 is coming" just doesn't have the same ring to it. :P

Btw, you must read "City of Djinns" by William Dalrymple whenever you get time. It's a travel book about Delhi, slightly dated (was published in '93) but really well-written and a fun read. And you can tell your dad that's it's historical and non-fiction. :)

And you can tell him that Kavita influenced both of us to read it, and you can prove his kavita-is-evil-influential-black magic performing-witch theory ;)

But... but... wouldn't this make me a good influence? You read good non-fiction, fathers happy, me less hated. Good thing all around.
