I have recently joined facebook and a few other such resources, and one thing that is glaringly disturbing to me is the amount of information about myself and others I am seeing. I have to wholeheartedly agree with you there... I fell victim to peer pressure and signed up for FB in October. Since then I have found myself ever more disturbed at the amount of information sharing that people feel comfortable with. Also, what's with all these goddamn superfluous applications?

I just wanted to use it as a visual portal for contact with people I don't see or speak with often. I don't want a drink, a plant, a snowball, a hug, to donate anything, to accept any gifts, or any damn fish for a lil' blue cove (I hate the use of "lil'" particularly.) I am not going to give you my information to be on your birthday calendar, or to be one of your "top girls." I don't want to play poker or Scrabble or Kidnap with you. I don't want to be part of your mob! I just want to see some photos and exchange emails! AAACK!

There's my two cents... If one more person gives half of what we did, we'll have enough to buy a gumball.
