I can understand the whole not wanting to deal with rejection thing, but really, isn't dragging it out only going to make the rejection, if that's indeed what's going on here, worse? Also if they're for some reason still deliberating on it, then showing some initiative might look good. Also, you could possibly ask the teacher that likes you to contact those people and put pressure on them.
If it were me, I would call. But then again, I am a masochist.
I'm giving it a week. If monday rolls around and i still haven't heard one way or the other, i'll give a call.
I realize that this whole "solution" is illogical, but it works for me. Basically, i'm grandfathering myself into being ok with the rejection once it comes, which is much easier (again, for me) than just getting the info straight out.
It's still my theory that the administrative bureaucracy has, in the style of most large bureaucracies, failed to update your current mailing address. As such, it's probably adrift somewhere in the postal system as it gets forwarded to your current address.
Otherwise, I theorize that they are sending acceptance letters in the order of most cleavage to least cleavage shown during the interview... as it sounds like the interview wouldn't have been useful for anything else.
