Freedom is Slavery

-I decided to keep my tutoring job after all. While i was looking around for a replacement, i found that i just couldn't match the pay without more than doubling my hours. Also, nearly every other position required weekends. Ugh. I'll take my 15 hrs a week tuesday-friday, even if it is a 45min commute each way ( Read more... )

whooo... quite a question.

I have 7 role playing games and 9 board games currently in development.

3 of those games are at 75% or more complete, while the rest range from 20% to 50%

Some day, I will get the motivation to finish at least one of them. I'm guessing this will be during my retirement :)

-Ouch. But there's definitely something to be said for working part time. As long as it doesn't drive you insane.

-Although those roads wouldn't be called twisties, they were definitely twistier than they looked on the map. Pleasantly surprising!

-I thought I recognized angeltits, but I was confused when you called him by his actual name.

-What did the kiddies say when you showed up to work on the bike?

-I say you develop your games in a manner which will best allow them to be sold by a crack corporate espionage team whose sole purpose is to steal games and turn them around on the market for a quick profit. Not that I have any involvement in such an operation...

-Good fan, you'll have neither school nor Ian to occupy your free time?

-I sense a coming resurgance of Neverwinter Nights and Magic Online.

-I can never remember if I've read 1984 or "Brave New World", cause I've read one but not the other. The one I've read would definitely fit your description.

-The little ones jumped up and down with excitement and asked to be allowed to sit on it. I turned it into a reinforcer, so they had to do work for the privilege.

-Yeah, we need a new (free) online game.

-The two books have several similar themes, but also a few major differences in implementation. In 1984, the govt controls people's actions through fear and constant surveillance, whereas in bnw, the govt controls the people with drugs and free sex.

Damn good idea. Plus the delay serves a dual purpose by giving the bike time to cool down (burned children tend to whine for some reason).

-- It's unfortunate you couldn't find something more emotionally fulfilling while still being financially comparable. At least you can hone your skill of convincing people to take their clothes off on command until it will work on the general population.

-- Now you will need to go somewhere that actually has changes in elevation as well... one of my biggest complaints about Davis is its flatness.

-- Yay Angeltits! Is he still as laid back as ever?

-- I'm shocked that you found someone to purchase your car; however, at least you will sell it to someone that can get use out of it.

-- If you need a crisis, I'm sure that I can provide a complex and amusingly surreal psychotic episode.

-- It looks like you'll have to buy beer now that Ian will be gone. I'm sure your liver rejoices...

-- Boo... although hopefully they will regret their move much like you did and quickly return to California.

-- I enjoy 1984, but find Brave New World more feasible as there would be fewer dissidents if the method were pleasure rather than fear.

---angeltits is indeed as laid back as possible... and he even still has the same demanding gf who demands his time. He works construction now, so he's getting buff.

---Although my liver may sing, my heart cries.

---I think each dystopia is feasible for at least a limited amount of time. It's all a matter of time until it falls, though.
