This is what I thought at first too, but it's hard to tell how big the animal is from this picture. And I don't think there are hyenas in China?

How about they treat it for mange? It should be easier to identify if it grows its fur back. My vote right now is also for civet or something like it. I'd say fossa but this isn't Madagascar.

If you go to the source and then click to go to the Chinese website, they have more pictures. One of the pictures shows the size of the animal and shows it next to a caged civet. They look identical apart from the hair.

China isn't particularly uh, "loving" to animals. It would be nice if they treated it, because I'm really doubting it's anything other than a known animal with mange/disease. But, well, I don't hold out much hope for this poor guy. I'm really not a fan of China and the way they treat animals.
