I am still glad I didn't tell you about the amazing bolt of lightning I saw right before take off. Had we been staying on the ground, I would have been sad you had missed it because it was perfect and the way seeing it was perfectly clear. I saw it from cloud to ground.

I think you did awesome for the situation we were in. I'll admit now that I was slightly nervous during the turbulence, too, but the pilot was good in bringing us to a lower altitude so we wouldn't have to feel the brunt of it.

I'm glad you didn't tell me, too. lol It would've killed me. And my aunt didn't help much telling me about the plane that got hit by lightning a few days ago. lol

I'm sure it was meant in the way that everyone was fine afterward, but for the moment in time, no it wasn't the thing to say to calm you down. lol

Lightning is the one thing you don't have to worry about. It routinely hits planes mid-flight with no damage.

What surprises me is that they took off during a thunderstorm. Not only does this make the runway very slick but there is also the chance of a microburst.
