When grades crash...

Sigh... It's really frustrating when that happens.

There hasn't been any updates from my fics for the entire August. And I thought back in July that August would be as less hectic, boy, I was wrong.

Firstly, my preliminary grades. I have 10 subjects in total. And guess what, I got  a dangerously low score on my major- ORGANIC CHEMISTRY. Granted, it's not really about the quizzes, as my quiz scores were decent enough (5-6 points above the passing score) and so was my preliminary exam. But darn, there were these online exercises/endchapter exams that I didn't manage to do because my internet was being a pain every time I tried to do it and I ended up forgetting to do the whole thing. Plus there were a lot of written reports I had to make. Argh. That was 20% of my grade! So... my preliminary grade, instead of supposedly being 71, ended up becoming...

51

... When the passing grade is supposed to be 60.

Sigh...

While this is a downer for me, it's not too late. This is only the preliminary grade. I still have my final grade to add to it. Our complete grade is the average of the preliminary grade and the final grade. So for me to pass, I need to get AT LEAST 69 points in my finals so that

51+69= 120/2= 60

And that would be equivalent to as passing score on my card, which is a 3.

Well, I am studying more seriously now and I changed my focus division on my subjects to Chem.

Funnily enough, I didn't really expect that Chem would be the subject that would make my 1st semester of my 2nd year problematic. I wrote back in June in the 5th chapter of Fusion Hearts that the subjects I'm mostly worried about are Physics (Mechanics) and Differential Calculus. Ironically, I got high preliminary grades in those: 68 and 83 respectively. Weird. O.o

Failing my first Organic chemistry would be really bad, since it's my major, and it's a pre-requisite to a ton of other chemistry subjects I have in the next few semesters (there's an Organic chemistry 2 and then an Advanced Organic Chemistry subject, btw). I could trail behind my supposed graduation by one year, meaning, instead of 4 years, my course will become 5 years. So sad...

And that means I unfortunately also had to take off my arranged fanfic chapter writing time into studying. The next chapter of Fusion Hearts is only half-way done, as much as I'd like to have updated sometime during August, I could not, as it would be really unfair to all readers who waited so long, only for me to give a half-assed chapter. I think it would be better if, even if it took so long (like beyond a month), but the next chapter would be long and satisfactory, right?
