"...she told me she'd made enough mats for 2xBLTs..."

All I could think of was "Did she skill up in making the sandwiches?", and then I realized she probably maxed cooking.

I have a dell, shamefully enough. Does me grand. Dual booting linux with it and I've no complaints yet.

My Dell was so. slow. Took forever to boot up, forever to open programs...forever to do anything. And I had 1/3 of my disk space free. Maybe if you have a shit ton of memory it won't be so bad. Mine was just finicky and didn't like....anything, really. But if you can get a good deal, maybe you can avoid some of the pit falls.

I keep remembering when Poornima's computer crashed and her thesis was erased. The hard drive just went kaboom. She had most of it backed up, but still.

I sorry, has been horrible with the responding thing. But know that I love to hear your every word!^_^ (or, read, rather... whatever).

I just looked up this Vostro 1500 on PC World, and they seem quite happy with it, so I'd definitely go for it. My experience with Dell hasn't been so great, but that was all with school desktops, and this looks to be a far superior piece of work. Definitely, if you're not sure, just read lots and lots of customer reviews.

P.S. I discovered the computer lab here is hiding Linux after all! It's Gentoo, which I've never looked at before so I'm excited to get around to playing with it one of these days. NOBODY uses it though...

hopefully I can catch you online sometime. Do you have Skype by any chance?
