You don't try to do too much, or push the characters too far past what they've already been shown to do, which is great. They are in character, which is probably the most important thing in a fic (to me, at least). A great one-shot. You should definitely write more!

I love it, it's beautiful, you should write morefics about them. I just love the idea of Yin and Hei togheter as a couple, but that might never happen.
