[ooc: there are different variations of Lenalee's hair color; I will actually be describing it as black rather than green.]
There are a few unique attributes about Lenalee, a few of them being her long legs and her deep lavender eyes. She also has two piercings, one on each ear, and her earrings are a pair of circular studs. She currently stands at a good 5'5".
Lenalee has gone through several different hairstyles throughout the series. She is first seen with long, flowing black hair that she usually styles into two high ponytails. After a battle with a Level 3 Akuma however, a good portion of her hair is burnt off, and she is left with a boyish, short hairstyle. As time progresses, her hair begins to grow out-- it is currently at neck-length.
Personality and Traits:
Sweet and selfless, Lenalee is an altruistic individual, being immensely caring and protective of those who are more than important to her. Those who are of high value to her are her world, her universe-- her reason for living. She will defend them with all of her power, and has even shown that she will put her life on the line for the sake of those dear to her. Whenever one of her comrades are lost, she feels as though a part of her world has been destroyed.
Due to her kind-hearted nature, Lenalee bottles up her some of her problems and keeps them to herself, not wanting to burden her friends. However, she will not tolerate immaturity or stupidity (as shown when she whacked Kanda with a clipboard on the head for not obeying orders). She often worries about her fellow exorcists when they are out on the battlefield, and sometimes even breaks down after reuniting with them, seeing that they are up and alive.
Despite all of the emotional trauma she has been through from the past and even through all of the burdens she carries, Lenalee still manages to keep a warm, welcoming smile on her face, along with a hospitable heart.
Canon Background:
After her parents suffered from murder-by-Akuma, Lenalee lived alone with her brother, Komui, her only remaining family member. But a tragic twist of events changed her life when she was discovered by the Black Order, for she was a Host of Innocence. She lost her sanity, often trying to escape from the Order to reunite with her brother, even resorting to suicide, and was eventually restraint to her bed to keep her under control. She had also witnessed several horrifying events of Innocence being forced upon those who were not hosts to begin with, scarring her emotionally. It was several years later when a miracle fell upon her, and her brother arrived at Headquarters, becoming the head of the department. It was then when she began to warm up to the Order and those around her, eventually agreeing to becoming a certified Exorcist.
After the arrival of Allen Walker, a new Exorcist, Lenalee embarks on a mission with him where she discovers a user of Innocence, Miranda Lotto. She and Allen both assist her with working at her new job, hoping to prove that she is not as unworthy as she claims to be. Soon after, the three of them are captured by Road Kamelot, and she falls unconscious from Road's power. She is later woken up thanks to Miranda's Innocence, and assists Allen in fighting Road and her Akuma. However, Lenalee grows enraged after stopping Allen when he attempts to save an Akuma that is about to explode. She reprimands him and slaps him for putting his life on the line so recklessly.
Soon after they recover, they head out on a new mission: to find General Cross. During this time period, she admits that she hates that Allen feels the need to sacrifice himself, and she accepts his apology that comes moments later. After being separated, she reunites with Allen and Lavi (another Exorcist) and immediately greets Arystar Krory, their new comrade.
During their journey, the group runs into Suman Dark, one of the Exorcists who had Innocence forced upon him, in his "Fallen One" form. This devastates Lenalee, but nonetheless, she teams up with Allen as the two try to save him. However, she is forced to abandon Allen in order to save a little girl who was trapped inside Suman's body.
Later she is accompanied by Lavi as the two go off in search of Allen. Unfortunately, after being unable to find him, they stumble across the place where Allen was attacked by Tyki Mikk, another Noah. When Timcanpy, Allen's golem plays images of what had happened to Allen, Lenalee falls into a deep depression after believing that he is dead. She and Lavi both leave on a ship for Edo.
On board the ship was a woman named Anita who had professed to seeing Cross alive. This restores Lenalee's faith and she begins to believe that Allen is also alive. They later discover that Allen is indeed living and a member of the Asian Branch of the Black Order had rescued him.
Things turn for the worst when a Level 3 Akuma attacks the ship. Lenalee departs from the ship and heads out to fight the Akuma by herself. During the battle at sea, Lenalee is nearly drowned to death, but soon forces herself to use her Innocence, Dark Boots, at its maximum power. Using her most paramount attack, she defeats the Akuma, nearly losing her life. She is then carried in a large crystal by a modified Akuma named Chomesuke. It is said that Lenalee's Innocence took the crystallized form to protect her, leading others to suspecting that her Innocence is indeed the "Heart", what the Black Order and the Millennium Earl have both been searching for. It is also revealed that a majority of her hair has been burnt off, and she is temporarily incapable of using her legs, for they were in such bad condition that she could barely even stand.
Arriving in Edo, Lenalee could not fight due to the condition of her legs. She was even captured by Tyki before being rescued by Yuu Kanda, yet another Exorcist and childhood friend of hers. The Millennium Earl also makes an appearance in Edo, wiping out the entire city, her Innocence taking on the crystallized form once again to protect her. It was then when the Earl immediately attempted to destroy her Innocence, only to have his plans ruined by nobody other than Allen Walker, using his new and improved Crown Clown weapon to repel the Earl and the Noah.
After reuniting with Allen, Lenalee is shortly captured yet again by the Earl with the intentions of destroying her along with an area called Noah's Ark. This, however, backfired when Allen, Lavi, Krory, Kanda, and Chaoji (a former crew mate of Anita's) followed Lenalee into the ark. They successfully defeated the Noah and procured the Akuma Egg.
Back at the Headquarters, Hevlaska immediately removes Lenalee's Innocence. They discover that her Innocence has taken a form of a black liquid. The Order is attacked shortly after by a Level 4 Akuma, and after coming to her resolve, Lenalee re-synched with her Innocence. She drank it in its liquid form, only to have blood burst out of her ankles. But her blood transformed into the new form of her Dark Boots, and she soared up into the air with Allen to defeat the Akuma.
After the battle, the Black Order discovered that she had a different type of Innocence-- a mix between a parasitic type and an equipment type-- and named it a "crystal type".
Shortly after a train of chaotic events that caused the "Black Order's Destruction", Lenalee and the rest of the Order moved to their new location. It was there when she and the others were informed that Allen contained the 14th Noah. But even so, she continues to support him and care about him, worrying about him while he had a fever and watching over him while he rested.
Strengths/Abilities:
"Dark Boots", the name of the equipment-type Innocence granted to Lenalee is her Anti-Akuma weapon. She has said that they are excruciatingly painful and substantial. They increase her speed and her strength, carrying a series of attacks: "Sound Shackles", "Water Shackles", "Mist-Wind", and "Iron Shackles". Sound Shackles allows Lenalee to interact with sound waves, therefore allowing her to travel at the speed of sound. With Water Shackles, she is able to dash on liquid surfaces. Her boots create Tornadoes with Mist-Wind. Iron Shackles is her most powerful attack-- it condenses her power onto her Innocence, letting her attack even with the weight of 40,000 metric tons.
After re-synching with her Innocence however, Lenalee's boots are far more powerful than they were before. They seem to be transforming into a parasitic-type. This allows her Dark Boots to react to her emotions, making them much easier to control.
Weaknesses/Faults:
One of Lenalee's biggest burdens is a reoccurring, Armageddon-themed nightmare. She is seen sitting on the ruins of what appears to be the Headquarters, suffering alone. Only Allen was informed about this dream, for he was also in it at two points-- one involving his Innocence disappearing and the other featuring his corpse lying on Lenalee's lap after his "death".
Lenalee is also emotionally unstable without her Innocence. No matter how much she dislikes Innocence (in general), she wants to protect those who are a part of her "world". Having a burning compassion and desire to safeguard her friends, she cannot cope with being a burden by being unable to fight alongside her fellow Exorcists.
Items Brought With Them (anything aside from the clothes on their back):
Lenalee will be bringing her Dark Boots with her.
First Person Sample:
[sup, guys. she's all up in yo' bunker, glancing around a little frantically. she wasn't expecting to wake up to a place like this. and after discovering the radio and subconsciously murmuring a few words to herself, she kind of sends a message to anyone who's listening]
Allen? Lavi? Kanda? Brother...?
Hello? I hope someone can hear me. Does anyone know where we are?
Third Person Sample:
Allen Walker was a foolish, foolish boy.
She didn't understand, and she would never understand. Akuma were stoic and inhumane-- they felt no sympathy. They had no compassion for others. They didn't care if you were righteous, or if you were just a two-year-old girl who held the brightest and purest future in the universe, granted by God Himself. They were out for anyone who did not do labor for the Earl. Those whose hands were tainted with the blood of her parents... were made to kill.
Why did he try? Why did he run after one of them, one of those monsters-- one of those murderers? Allen should have understood, especially when you consider the fact that he was, indeed, General Cross' apprentice.
That Akuma deserved to die. It deserved to suffer from the massive explosion of heat that had been increasing in intensity within. He did not deserve to feel sympathy for them-- to feel the need to make sacrifices for them. For him to feel the necessity sacrifice his life for someone-- no, something like an Akuma-- made her furious. This boy who she had known for such a short period of time had already begun to maneuver his way into her universe. And for him to say-- for him to bellow something like that--
"Why did you stop me?!"
--was despicable.
"Because we're friends!!"
And maybe Lenalee Lee was a selfish, selfish girl.
Because if Allen Walker had sauntered out of her life, she wouldn't have found the strength to go on.
