I supose you see The Idiot's Guide to Editing Manga no? Storm in Heaven have one of the most beautiful scanlation that i see ^_^ And her fonts are the best.
well... this page ^_^
I like the scan, is clean (the border from the right and the bellow can be erase) The letter are good but, for me, in the double bubbles the size is not the rigth. The phrase rate must be taken into account when you are putting the text into the bubble (^^, sorry my english are from google and word reference) Above a background "black" or with a texture, you have to put the font with a white border. The translator note can be put in other page (the translator note page) too if you want to extend the information.
Thanks for all the helpful tips. I got told the same things from other people that looked at the page too. I'll try to remember it all the text time I edit.
hey sweetie i got this morning my mail back as undelivered i think attachments failed to deliver cause they are too big around 12 mb T_T i'll send you a linky later since today i'm at work from 8 am till 4 or 4:30 pm sorry for the wait
i'll email you today when i get back from work, sorry for the wait my cat got hurt so i had a mini nervous break down and was freaking out the whole night and day
Uah!! You did a wonderful work!!! You will be a great editor! ^0^!! *Nakayoshi_chan hugs Crystalespers*
Mmm... any tip... mmm... The only thing I can say is... mm... that you can add a white border in the letters when you write in a texture or a black background... I usually did it when I edited mangas :3 I'm sorry, I supose I can't help in anymore T___T You did a great work!!! Gambatte!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do your best!!! ♥
oh u certainly do it better than me! i leave the kanji all over the place lol. how do u make it so clean? it looks like a page right out of a manga that's originally printed in english!
im not a fan of the fonts though. i find them a little too narrow for my liking. you can check out www.fontgarden.com for a large selection of informal/handwriting style fonts which i believe will suit manga pages. i always use anime ace.
the layout of the words in the double bubbles is a bit awkward but i frequently have problems with that too so i understand how it's like XD
I found out I'm better at scanning, cleaning and redrawing scans than editing so that's what I do in the scanlation group I started instead.
I realized what the two main fonts were after I tried this so now we use anime ace or wild words for main text. Thanks for the website since we could always use more fonts for different effects.
I still can't figure out how to get them looking correctly. I need more pratice.

Everyone was saying it was good for my first try. I just have to learn how to center the text in double bubbles better and remember to add strokes.
