Ever since Haise was a teenager, he was pretty popular among girls and even boys at school.

He was used with the love letters he would receive, crowding his locker and desk, so many that he couldn’t even take a hold of his books. But Haise wasn’t a person that bragged about it, on the contrary, he felt bad for all the persons he had nothing to give beside friendship.

And so Haise grew up, always surrounded by lustful gazes and people wanting to date him, though, he never really gave it too much attention, dismissing any attempts and only focusing on his career, after all, he was one of the most promising students in the whole CCG academia.

.

20 years old Haise was now trying to make himself presentable, wearing his black social shirt and striped pants, fumbling with the tie that was being too annoying and not staying in place.

Already graduated and being a rank 2 investigator, Sasaki was valuable not only by his physical and mental skills, but also because of his charisma, how people seemed to be drawn to him, as bugs to light.

Besides his normal work as a ghoul investigator, Sasaki also worked as a teacher, especially the one that was responsible by PE, even though he sometimes taught about other subjects.

He lived by himself in a house that was inside CCG fields, the plans of moving out to another place buried by the comfort of living literally next to his workplace.

This day, in special, the two-tone-haired male was in charge of making lectures in a high school concerning ghouls, how to identify and escape from them. In Haise’s opinion, it was very important, after all, it could save a life.

Finally ready, he left his house and headed to his car, driving to the public school and parking it when he found the lot was specifically designated to him.

He had only 4 classes to go, which would consume his whole morning, but really, he was fine with it.

“Good morning, can you please tell me where is class 9-B?” He politely asked to a girl in the corridor, getting a direction and heading to there.

.

Ever since he was young, he was pretty popular among girls and even boys, but Haise never paid attention to it, he never felt that feeling that he read about in countless books.

Love.

Enormous, magnificent, capable of moving mountains, a force hot like the sun and gentle like the breeze of a spring day.

He was 23 and had a successful life; he was even being trained to be the next biggest investigator at CCG. Truly, Sasaki had principles and values, he was righteous, a perfect citizen, and yet, there he was, feeling his heart race upon meeting a boy that was at least 6 years younger than himself.

He had to loosen his tie a bit, nervously cleaning his throat and forcing himself to not look at those silvery eyes that reminded him of stars.

The lecture consisted in talking and then a part where Sasaki did some questions to the students, answering their questions right after it. He couldn’t help but to immediately choose the black-haired boy.

“Please, tell me your name,” Haise said with a tiny smile, noticing that the other was uncomfortable, fidgeting on the chair; he probably wasn’t used to attention.

“It’s Ken Kaneki…” Came the name that Haise wanted to make sure to never forget.

Haise knew he probably hadn’t any questions, but that was just an excuse to talk to him, though, the conversation was bounded to be really short and with only a few words.

After the little interaction, the ring sounded, marking the end of that period and letting the students leave to their break.

Haise was placing his papers inside his briefcase, sometimes sneaking one or two glances in Kaneki’s direction, noticing that luck probably was at his side, because the black-haired male was the last person in class.

“Ah, Kaneki-kun, excuse me, but what book are you reading?” He quickly asked, before the other left the room.

“Uh… It’s called Moonbeams.” He explained, showing the cover that had a shooting star on it.

Sasaki knew that book, in fact, he had read it already.

“Oh, sounds pretty interesting! I had never read it before.”

“It’s very nice, it’s about meditation.”

“Maybe you could lend it to me? I mean, after you are done reading. I can give it back to you in two days, in my next lecture.”

That was wrong.

“--Yes, I hope you like it, Sasaki-sensei.”

So wrong.

.

Haise knew by heart where classroom 9-B was now, so it was easy to him to find the place, waiting until all the kids were out and only Kaneki was inside it.

“Kaneki-kun, I read your book, it really was interesting!”

“Ah, did you like it?” The black-haired male asked, getting up and looking at Sasaki with twinkling eyes.

“--Yes, ah, I really did,” He had to loosen his tie. “To be honest, I took some books that I thought you would like… Would you like to see them?”

“Yes, please!”

That was so wrong, he wasn’t supposed to try to approach Kaneki.

“I’m glad!”

And he couldn’t care less.
