Me too! I've said before that's he's pretty much my type of a perfect man. I'm not one for the pretty in real life (though, a Jensen Ackles, I'd make an exception for, I'm sure, heh) 'cause I really just like manly men.
Broad, tall, even a little chubby if so be it, and especially hairy. All full of Man!Smell. Just manly fucking men, dammit. Heee! ;)

I know it as "...and put away wet" and in my experience it refers to someone's condition and grooming/presentation as much as (or more than) their fundamental appearance.
If somebody's tired, beat up, dirty, ungroomed, sweaty, skanky... or sometimes if they look like a used-up lowlife.
But that person could be either ugly or beautiful and the expression could still apply.
YMMV and all that.

Exactly! That's how I feel about it too. I just heard someone refer to person that is less than attractive "rode hard and put away wet" when they were nothing of the sort. Unattractive, perhaps. But they in no way looked rough.
