My bio lab book says fetal pigs are a "natural byproduct of meat production". When they slaughter a pregnant female, the fetus dies too. My question is, what the heck are they doing slaughtering pregnant females?!?!?! And How are they slaughtering so many of them that they have enough for science classes around the country? I guess it's just weird to me. I was kind of weirded out to find out from a non-Jewish friend that a lot of people always have a stash of bacon in their fridge. Meat was a very rare thing to find in my house when I was growing up.
