I'm a fan of This American Life and I download the podcast regularly. I had read that the television version on Showtime hadn't been doing too well, but this snippet was really interesting (and I got to see Ira Glass too). I'm not crazy about finding out how many freakin' seconds that I've been alive, but finding out what happened on that date throughout history is pretty amazing. Not only was it the date that ole Christopher first spotted "the new world", but it is also the date that Krushchev pounded a shoe on a desk at the UN. Leave a comment  6
