A wise person once told me that the eye is the window to our souls. Don't guess I'd bare my soul for all to see on LJ (no, not my eye)! This is the only icon that I could come up with during the few minutes I could steal away yesterday!

Hi Blyss's friend! Read your Nov 6 post about going to Kodiak Jacks; are you fluent in ASL? I am half-deaf and have always been intrigued with the deaf culture. I am looking forward to meeting you too!

I didn't know you were half deaf. More reasons why you are totaly cool!
I am not fluent..... I'm in ASL 3 so I can more or less have a good conversation with people. Understanding is always the hardist part to learn and it takes me a while to get used to peoples 'accsents' but I think im okay at it. Do you know much ASL at all?

I took ASL years ago and have practiced on my own since then (all my kids did "baby-signing;" this was before it was in vouge too). Two years ago I was homeschooling my 7th and 8th grade girls and we did an ASL course by correspondence through BYU. Next year our youngest daughter will be in 5th grade and we plan to homeschool her. I know several other kids around her age that want to do an ASL course with us then, so I plan to keep it up, at least the basics! Do you go to any of the deaf culture lunches or anything? I'd like to get more involved with the deaf community. Hey, did you notice that both of our icons have an eye?
