This was the speech that I did tonight at the band banquet. I know it is long but I promise you will enjoy it. The banquet went very well and I would like to congratulate everyone who received an award tonight

I don't think anyone at all could have summed up your past 4, my past 3 years, in any words better than you've done right there. Watching the instructors nod their heads in agreement with some of the things you were saying was just so much fun to watch. I really did enjoy that speech, you described GN perfectly. Just an all around amazing experience. I think that definatly hit Bybee the hardest. You are the first one in the History of our Band program to actually commit an entire section of a speech to him. I'm glad you did it- because it was greatly needed. At the end of the speech- Perpetual October (which I, by the way showed you) hehe, was the best closer you could have choosen. I hadn't heard it in a while and when you started reading it - guess what...goose bumps start creeping. Everyone enjoyed the way you conveyed your thoughts and feelings, with that oh so personal touch. Thank you very much!! I'll get you to write my speech for next year.. :)
As I'm sure you could figure out from my reaction last night, I thought your speech was beautiful and very moving. Thanks for that, it really made my night more than anything else.
Wow we didn't have speeches like that back during my band days. Its weird to think that it was 3 years ago that I sat at my last band banquet. Sad times. For us band nerds, marching band was high school. That was an awesome speech Daniel. It weird to think that you are about to graduate. The little 8th grader who always hung out with the older kids. Oh I feel old. We'll have to go celebrate.
