Near Pittsburgh's Science Center, in the waters of the Ohio River a real submarine is docked - U.S.S Requin. It is not a noble battle submarine - by no fault of it's own - it was launched in 1945 and about to sail into combat when the Japanese surrendered. The Requin was then turned into a Cold War sub and has been spying and tracking enemy ships

Спасибо, очень интересно! Я видела подводную лодку, на которую разрешались экскурсии, в Сан-Франциско, но не решилась туда пойти. Потому что у меня тоже есть боязнь закрытых пространств, не знаю, как бы это выдержала. Действительно суровые условия, и работа - мне представляется очень трудной морально и опасной. Вы перебрались на East Coast? :)

Я бы не смогла на такой подводной лодке работать, если честно. В "Interstellar" есть замечательная фраза, которая хорошо характеризует мое отношение к подводным лодкам:"I just can't stop thinking, that only a thin sheet of metal separates me from nothingness"

Нет, просто приезжали на Thanksgiving :)
