O'Reilly and FNC

The film "Outfoxed" portrayed Fox News in a less than favorable light, amking them out to be far right wing distorters of fact. Bill O'Reilly is labeled as a conservative, but it should be clear to anyone who knows anything about this film (or even anyone who has watched it) that the film-makers themselves have distorted the case. I agree, but "Outfoxed" as a whole seemed like a pot calling the kettle black. The film reminded me of any recent Michael Moore production. Simple logic will tell you that the producers and sponsors of this film had to be pretty far left to make a film devoted entirely to the criticism of one network. The film made it seem as though the fact that FOX is conservative is the serious problem, and underplayed the real problem that FOX does not present its news objectively, as media in the truest sense of the word should. But in pointing out FOX's conservative biases, "Outfoxed" was essentially doing the same thing (as this entry pointed out)--distorting the facts, quotes, and clips to favor their argument. If a broader scope had been given to the film, such as using other dominant cable news networks for a comparison, "Outfoxed" may have been more credible, and in all honestly, more influential. But in looking at other national, state, and local news sources, there is always a hint of a lean, right or left, whenever it comes to ( ... )
