Starlight Express...WHY?!

I enjoy the occational musical but am not completely obsessed with them. I enjoy playing them when I am in a a band or wind symphony because they are fun. I was listening to an advertising for Andrew Loyde Webber's musical 'Starlight Express' which is playing in some theater here in Boston. Haha, I am so afraid of that! Isn't that the one where people look like they're from the `80s, and they are roller skating? Shudder.

In my limited experience, the only musicals I've enjoyed have been "Chicago" and "Moulin Rouge" ... and since they were both for the screen, I'm not sure that counts. (Or does "Mary Poppins" count as a musical in some way? Cuz I am so down with her.)

I'm thinking about seeing "Bombay Dreams" this summer in London, another Lord Lloyd-Weber production, just to see how silly it must be to have a whitey writing a musical about South Asian culture.
