As I've grown up J and I have been developing and harnessing our emotional and intuitive capabilities. Ahh, drowning in happiness. I guess it can be a good or a bad thing, depending on how you take the metaphor. Is it to be taken literally, in that drowning (and hence dying) is a bad thing? Does it imply some kind of emotional breakdown under the strain of overwhelming unexpected happiness? (You know, I think that there is a technical term for that condition, which really amused me when I first read about it in Alain de Botton's _On Love_.) If it just means losing yourself in it, being enveloped in it, that does sound pretty good ... if it's a sure thing.

Everything I think is so tainted by skepticism nowadays! I, too, refuse to ride any conceivable swells of happiness. I guess that's why we're chums, no? ;)
