I'll tell you something about my beloved, if you like.

First of all, he wrote this book. But that's not what this blog is about; he wrote that book WELL before we ever met, so I had nothing to do with it. Journey is great. I still go back to it every so often.

The same folks did both Flow (a sort of "evolving beings in a primordial soup" game) and Flower (you are the wind, bringing life to the landscape). I recommend both, though I still think Journey is their masterwork.

The game package we got came with both of those! The evolution of the game company and its vision must be highly interesting.

I have to leave a comment before reading the whole entry, because of Journey. The ninja girl showed me this game, and it looked so lovely. I have one of the theme tunes from it in iTunes.

Oh, it was SCRUMPTIOUS! So many interesting and deep things are being done with the medium. It is MIND-BENDING to think about the THOUGHT that goes into the creation of these games.

Back again! I loved your thoughts about what makes a game different from a story, what playing a game entails, and about death in games--very, very cool. I also loved Carlos's Journey-related poem, especially verse 3, especially the last two lines, and very much verse 4 <3
