He he he I love it. I don't really think the Master would be any different without the drums what do you think? (How are you by the way)

Nah, I don't think he'd be different at all to be honest. After all, there was no mention of the drums in the old series...

Are you at school/uni/colledge? I'm good I'm starting Uni next week. No drums in the old series - that annoyed me. Do you think that RTD was doing a bit of a cop out having the masters motivation as the drums instead of him being ammoral? I tend to describe the drums away as being a symptom PTSD instead of changing old school canon to fit it in. What about you?

Yep, I've got a stack of work to do that I really should be doing instead of lj-ing. But what can you do, eh? ;)

It seems in RTD's 'verse, just being evil isn't good enough for him, there always has to be a reason and a motive, which takes something from the Master's character, I think.

As for the drums, my fanwank fanon is that they're a product of being resurrected in the Time War, something put in there by the Time Lords to keep him fighting. And he was made to believe he's had them all his life.

Exactly, I think he likes having the drums because it makes him feel special. :) And there's no way they influence his behaviour that much.
