Rant ahead, please be warned.

So I'm well into my student teaching experience...some of the things that have ahppened have been hilarious, others make me want to beat my head in...

So, I just started teaching my all days last week.  I have three 90 min. classes a day.  The first two aren't bad at all, they are my freshman and I love most of them to death (and the ones that are great more than make up for the annoying ones).  Of course I had the best Monday ever last week *grins big*.   The student who gave me problems since day one (see previous rants) transferred to another high school in the county.   So what is this rant about you may ask?   High schoolers.  More specifically juniors and seniors who think that there shit doesn't stink and that all of us teachers must bow down to their awesomeness, note the sarcasm here please.  I gave out more failing grades on progress reports last week than I've given all semester.  They won't participate, they refuse to do as I ask and they whine more than my 8 year old niece (and trust me, she is a pro at whining, or at least I thought until I met this group of 17 and 18 year olds). I think if I hear one more, 'It's too hot', 'why do we have to be outside when the middle school isn't?' or 'you gave me what on my progress report?! My parents are gonna be pissed!' I will scream...seriously, and probably right in the poor student's face who ask the question that pushes me over the edge.  It's NC in late summer/early fall, it's hot, it's humid, get over it.  We're playing flag football and soccer...those are outdoor sports, get over it.  And as for grades, I like to say what one of my professors at college used to...I don't give you your grade, you earn it.  It's not my fault you won't get up, and attempt to move around the field and at least act like you are trying to do something.  That's all I ask, really, no great feats of athletic performance.  This is an elective class...oy! Anyway, I appreciate you all tuning into this rant...*takes a deep breath* I feel much better now.  *hugs f-list*  Tune in next time, same bat time, same bat channel for fic hopefully :D
