When Flack dialed Danny's number, he's immediately brought to the man's voicemail and he sighed before hearing the familiar sound of the beeping before speaking.

Hey Dan, it's me. Listen, I talked to some of the witnesses and the only thing they can remember about hunting was that of close ( Read more... )

Danny pushed up his glasses and rubbed at his eyes. The evidence was gettin' him nowhere, as all but one of the fingerprints had been connected to the victim's family. And the knife? So many people owned them that it was going to take forever to separate who could have done it from those that couldn't have.

Flipping open his phone, he caught Don's message and grinned to himself despite his growing headache. Nag. At least he knew Don was okay, not caught in a repeat of when they'd both gone to talk to a suspect.. Dialing the other man's number, he didn't wait to see if Flack picked up before just starting to talk.

"Keep calling me like this, I'm gonna have to start calling ya 'Dad'. But.. it's better than you not calling me at all. Anyway, I'm 'bout ready to beat my head against a wall if something doesn't pop on this case. It keeps me distracted but not distracted enough, ya know? There's a sick guy.. woman? out there who needs to be caught."

Flack hadn't excpeted the shrill of his cell phone to go off right in the middle of him filling out paper work but when he glanced down and saw Danny's name flash across the screen, he quickly stood up and opened his phone, placing it to his ear as he stepped outside, warm air greeting him.

And even before could even say anything close to a greeting, Danny was already talking and it made Flack smirk. Typical Danny.

When he was sure the other man was finished, he picked up the conversation. "Hey, ya can call me what ever you want, buddy but I'm still gonna be callin' no matter what so get used to that." He leaned up against the wall as he watched nearby citizens pass by. "Yeah, I'm runnin' up dry on things as well. Don't have much and I'm afraid you guys are gonna have to start puttin' together some new evidence or somethin'." There was a slight pause as he bit his lower lip as he glanced down at his watch. "Hey, instead of beatin' your head to the wall, wanna grab a quick drink or somethin'?"

Danny managed a laugh when he finally caught a breath and heard Flack responding. He smirked, tapping his fingers on the lab table as he listened. "I'll never get used to it, more fun that way."

He nodded, saving his work on the computer before glancing around the room. "We'll come up with something. Just give the machines a little time to run through everything we have." Checking his watch, he stood up, rubbing the back of his neck as he made his way out, ducking into the elevator. "Sounds like a plan. Where're you at, I'll meet ya."

Flack's smile widened at Danny's response. "I'm outside." He said as he peeled hismelf off from the brick wall before stepping a little more into the crowds of people. "I can just start headin' towards the lab and meet ya half way." He told him as he began to move opposite of the crowd, ducking his head low to keep from the glances.

"Plus, really think we both need a break." Or perhaps something more but Flack kept his mouth shut after that. And plus, Flack really wasn't sure where Danny was at the moment anyway and that if anyone close by would be able to hear him.
