Oh, what a wonderful post. If I´d live any closer I´d rush to you to give you a big, big HUG. You wrote right out of my heart. This post made me laugh and tug at my heartstring the same way. We´re so much alike. As a kid I was more like a boy than a "typical" girl (whatever that means), I´m not the mawkish kind of women, but very emotional and spirited. When it comes to my son I become like a tigress. Protective and sentimental, a puddle of love. I had nearly the same feelings six years ago when Patrick started Kindergarten and he´s in 3rd class now. What a big boy but still a kid :D
The only thing I can assure you of they´re still need us. They come to cuddle up or to romp, asking for guidance and advice.
Good luck for your little girl:D

Thank you for posting such a wonderful and personal note.

HUGS, Heike

Thank you so much Heike! I've just really felt all crazy about all these changes lately, and writing about them was the only way I knew to get them off my chest. I knew there were wonderful people out there like you, who would have words of wisdom and encouragement for me. Not to mention a sypathetic heart and shoulder to cry on! Thanks so much for responding!

It's amazing what those three little words can do, isn't it? I don't have a daughter, but I do have a 5 year old niece who also started kindergarten. There is nothing that fills my heart with greater joy than to hear her say, "I love you." I could be having the worst day in the world, but everything would be lifted off my shoulders once she said that. Good luck with letting go.

They are absolutely the most magical words in existence...especially from the mouth of a child. And thanks for the good luck wishes. I have a feeling I'm going to need them :)

Your post made me LOL :-) You're a great mom obviously, and I'm laughing inwardly with you about your epiphany. I, too, was the tomboy my mom never wanted. Dolls were something to shoot with a BB gun or practice throwing walnuts at. Give me a baseball or basketball and leagve me alone. Dresses were (and still are to some degree)put on earth to torture me. Anyway, it was quite a shock to discover my inner sentimentalism that I have tried to hide in my later years. Geesh...tears at Hallmark Card commercials these days. Enjoy your changes. They make you the unique and wonderful person you are!

Your reply made LOL:) I never realized what good company I was in until this whole experience! Perhaps CSI had it right...what we are never changes, who we are never stops changing. It ought to be an interesting ride :) Thanks so much for commenting!
