I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what he would do. I was pretty sure he'd go back but the beginning of this chapter made me wonder. I'm happy with his choice and hopefully now he can live with fewer deamons haunting him. Great story!

Yeah, I'm pretty much crying right along with them. For so many reasons.

But yay they're not going to be apart! I would have hated to see Ash and Jason say goodbye.

That's what it came back to for me when I was writing it. He'd created his own family, and Jason was more son than friend. Deep down, that drove his decisions more than anything else.

I'm really glad you enjoyed the story. The epi should be posted tonight or tomorrow.

He's still Luke, but I'm glad he's going back with Carl, Lanie, and Jason. He is Jason's dad and needs to be there to watch him grow up.

However, when Reid's ashes magically rise up again and without any plausbile explanation, lol, I'd like Reid to move out there with them instead of Luke moving back to Oakdale. Reid and Luke can be together while Luke continues to take care of his new "family".

So....that's all happening in the epilogue, right??? *wink wink nudge nudge*

I always knew they'd be going back. Luke had changed too much and become something that going home brought out. More than anything, he moved forward - maybe not in the most conventional way, but in the healthiest way he could. If that makes a lick of sense. lol

It does make sense. I had been hoping that he wouldn't stay in Oakdale. That's not his life anymore.

Grabbed a tissue when I started this chapter, and needed it. Loved Luke's following his heart, and drawing strength from Reid's ashes, and his thoughts of his short time with Reid. Can't wait for epi.
