For those wanting to know more about the recent DDoS attacks, yes, it looks like it was the Russian government trying to shut down the dissidents again.

I thought this was pretty hardcore on the part of Livejournal when I started reading about it in more depth. I knew LJ had a massive Russian population but didn't realise it hosted such a massive network of political blogs. All power to them for standing up for their users in the face of an increasingly autocratic regime!

I remember when the Russians purchased LJ I thought it was going to be a bad thing but it seems that it has become a forum for them to act out against what really is not a democratic goverement. I really hope that we can see an increase in the people of t raising up against the established Russian Goverement.
