Spock--the younger--seemed to have things well in had. Well, as well in hand as they could be at this point, when there was only a trail to follow and (thankfully) some reassurance that Jim was still alive. He was still uncertain about Nero. Whatever had Jim and George might be using that name, that image, for its own purposes.
But now that there was nothing to do but wait, Jim had something else on his mind. The other Pike and Spock. Under heavy guard, all the same they deserved an explanation. And by now, they would know that the ship was without her captain, and things were unbalanced and distracting.
They needed some show of strength.
"If you'll excuse me, Captain," he said, nodding to the Spock in command. "I seem to be of no further use, here."
He glanced at his Spock for a moment. I must inform your counterpart and his Pike as to the situation, he said silently. You may come or stay, as you wish. He knew Spock would be concerned for Jim, for the thin trail his mind held. But he would not command either way, at this time.
( ... )
Jim knew what Spock meant. He approved of the decision to divide their strength and experience--he had merely held off on making it to allow for Spock's natural investment in the other situation.
Spock gave Kirk an approving nod. He could have denied the request to leave, but he presumed that he had thought of better things to do. "You may leave, sir." He couldn't call him anything else, as he was not Spock's Jim nor his captain, but Kirk's experience merited some form of respect. "If I am in need of your advice, I will request you." With the implication that said advice might be needed rather soon.
(OOC: Yes, rather after the fact again. XD But at least we know Jim didn't just run off the bridge to see m!Pike and m!Spock!)

His first and immediate instinct was to accompany Jim. Particularly in a potentially dangerous situation. Yet there was need for him here as well.
Call for me before there is danger.
As soon as Jim's instincts told him something was off.

I will.
He was not planning on inviting it.

"Please do," he said. "Captain." With that--and a last glance at his Spock--he took his leave.
Advice. That was all he was called upon for. It was... better than nothing. Better than those in medical quarantine, given nothing but isolation.
[OOC - Oh, of course, I mean he wouldn't do anything so foolish.]
