Does anyone know if you can cancel an order at the bookstore before it has been filled? I ordered a book as a rental, it currently says "in progress" "picking". My dad got a call last night with them saying that they don't have a rental copy, but do have a used one. I don't want to pay $80, so I want to cancel the order and rent it from another

If they're still picking the book, I don't think you've been billed yet and you can probably cancel. When you ordered the books online there should have been an setting for opting to get the next option (for example, automatically being sent a new copy if there were no used copies) that you could turn on or off. If you clicked "Do NOT automatically change order, etc" in the event the type of book you ordered wasn't in stock, the order should have already cancelled itself. I would call/email and ask.

I believe the last day to return books is Feb. 7th so if you return it before then you should be fine.
