Such an interesting culture. A Mars landing and a coming-of-age ceremony are inextricably juxtaposed in my mind today...
You should maintain that status of official photographer--these are incredibly rich images to hold onto forever. I'm entranced by the stunning faces and beautiful fabrics in their clothing: chevrons and stripes and vibrant colors against a parched earth. Do they always look this elegant, or are they dressed like this because of this auspicious occasion? I'm glad you captured the wee one in one of these photos, snuggled up against its mother's back, oblivious of the whole ceremony, just wanting the comfort of her closeness...
I don't know how your stomach handles some of these offerings. I'm here in America, and when I'm on the road for long stretches, my stomach gets queasy at the slightest things... I never used to be that way, (and I'm a fairly adventuresome eater,) but I do now.
