Isn't it so true that we remember life by the foods we ate on special occasions? I could tell you every detail about what I consumed the night Eric was born. He laughs at that, but I remember it all distinctly...and the day I met Bob's (Eric's dad) Norwegian great aunts, I remember the dishes, the smells, the foods, and the wonderful collaborative preparations. So many sentimental moments surround foods in our lives...so I smile reading your vivid descriptions.
Fitzgerald is a big fave. And Zelda as well! I thought she was quite talented in her own right--Save Me the Waltz. I've read that,and her fascinating biography by Nancy Milford. Bundle up in that tent and have at it!
